japan started out in 1974 as a rather glam-based quintet, and
by 1980 evolved into a stylish synth-pop band. the original members
were david
sylvian, steve jansen, mick
karn, richard barbieri, and rob dean.
over the years, japan worked with such distinguished artists as
ryuichi
sakamoto, masami tsuchiya, haruomi
hosono, and yukihiro
takahashi.
japan disbanded in 1982 after their last and most prolific album,
'tin drum.' the guys went on to solo projects, all doing quite
well. in 1989, they came together under the name 'rain tree crow'
and sadly only produced one album before personal differences
sent them on their separate courses once again.
fanlistings were a wonderful idea from janine at thefanlistings.org.
a fanlisting is a place for all fans of a particular show, movie, actor, actress,
singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people from all
around the world who are fans of that subject.
it is not a mailing list or a club. you will not receive any email (unless the
list moves), propaganda or junk from this fanlist.
this site is not affiliated with or approved by japan or any of its members.
